After the news we published a few days ago, the hotel group itself has released information confirming what we were telling you and providing new information about their plans for this historic building in Brihuega.
They will invest 12 million euros in the refurbishment of the building to convert it into a four-star hotel with spa and restaurant with a built area of 9,000 square meters.
The new hotel will have 76 rooms (all of them unique) and will offer restaurant services, large thermal areas and treatment cabins. As in the other 4 hotels owned by Castilla Termal, green energies such as biomass, geothermal and photovoltaic solar energy will be used in Brihuega.

In addition to responding to a historical demand in the area and supporting tourism in the town, the opening of the hotel scheduled for the summer of 2022 will generate more than 60 direct jobs, so it will also have a positive impact on the economy and employment in Brihuega, the company said in a statement.
Located one hour from Madrid, Brihuega is considered ‘The garden of La Alcarria’. It has among its tourist attractions a beautiful and well cared for historical and cultural heritage, as well as having become a true lavender paradise that attracts thousands of visitors during the flowering months.
Built by the architect Manuel de Villegas, and after living a period of splendor between 1768 and 1790 (it had 178 weavers, 40 apprentices and 800 officers for auxiliary tasks), it was used during the War of Independence as a French barracks. After the end of the war, it continued to operate in private hands until its final closure in 1835.
