“There is no one for tribute, questions of privilege…”, Cristina Kirchner began to say after the vote, when the president of the Pro block, Humberto Schiavoni (Misiones) asked her to speak.

“Are you going to raise a question of privilege? The stage of making such statements has already passed. He wants to take the floor… the senator has the floor… he looks like a chicken… they look like chickens”, said the vice-president, and immediately imitated with a gesture the supposed similarity between the opposition senator and a chicken.

“Just to clarify that the rules, in Article 227, say ‘of the members of the Senate’ not of those present. We did not reach that two-thirds. Just for that,” said Humberto Schiavoni once Cristina Kirchner granted him the floor.

Cristina kirchnermemorandum

The former president was indicted this Monday, without preventive imprisonment, for the historical documents found in her house in El Calafate during a raid in the case of the notebooks: she had in her possession a file of former president Hipólito Yrigoyen and a letter that Don José de San Martín wrote from France to the Chilean patriot Bernardo O’Higgins in 1835.

This was indicated by judicial sources, who specified that Judge Claudio Bonadio signed the indictment of the former president. According to the judge, Cristina Kirchner knew about the origin of these documents and did not report it.

Prior to the vote in the Senate on the former president’s parliamentary privileges, Judge Bonadio ordered at the end of August a series of raids on Cristina Kirchner’s properties both in the Federal Capital and in Santa Cruz. In the El Calafate residence, the judge seized elements that triggered several legal cases: a presidential baton that had not belonged to the Kirchners, some intelligence documents, together with a letter from San Martín and Yrigoyen’s police record -with notes from 1906 to 1910-. For each finding, a different case was opened.
