(1 de julio de 2014)-Penguin Random House, la editorial global de libros comerciales propiedad en un 53% de Bertelsmann y en un 47% de Pearson, ha anunciado hoy que ha completado el proceso de compra de Santillana Ediciones Generales, el negocio de publicación de libros comerciales, de Santillana, el negocio de publicación de libros comerciales propiedad mayoritaria de PRISA. La empresa adquirida pasa a formar parte de Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial (PRHGE), que seguirá operando con esta denominación en España, Latinoamérica y ahora también en Portugal. La sede de Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial seguirá estando en Barcelona.
La empresa adquirida se fusiona con Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial en España, Portugal y Latinoamérica, ampliando el negocio editorial de PRHGE en los mercados ibérico y latinoamericano. El potencial de crecimiento del Grupo en América Latina se verá reforzado con los sellos de Santillana en México, Argentina, Colombia, Chile y Uruguay, junto con las editoriales de PRGH existentes desde hace tiempo. Los sellos de Santillana permitirán a PRHGE establecer una presencia editorial en Perú, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Venezuela, República Dominicana y Centroamérica.

The announcement of the sale was made by Miguel Angel Cayuela, CEO of Santillana, and Markus Dohle, CEO of Penguin Random House. The Santillana Editorial website has a contact form, but it is specially designed for teachers (it has a field in which the school must be specified).
