Comenzó su carrera artística desde muy joven cantando en Andalucía. A los seis años acompañaba a su madre en los tablaos flamencos del “Barrio de la Pastora”, y un año después ganó un concurso de cante en la peña “El Chato” de San Fernando, donde cantó por bulerías y obtuvo el primer premio. Con ello demostró que tenía aptitudes a pesar de su corta edad[2].
Ha recibido muchos premios. Algunos de los más importantes son cuatro Grammy Latinos (tres como mejor álbum de música flamenca y uno como mejor álbum folclórico), así como discos de Oro y Platino en España y otros países como Colombia y Argentina, ya que ha traspasado las fronteras españolas y ha realizado giras por Latinoamérica y Europa con gran éxito. Es la única artista flamenca nominada al Grammy al Mejor Álbum de Pop Latino y ha ganado dos Premios Dial y otros tantos Premios Amigo[1].
En 2018 fue galardonada con la Medalla de Andalucía, un prestigioso premio andaluz. En ese acto también cantó el himno de Andalucía. Además, recibió el Premio de Honor a la Trayectoria Nacional e Internacional en los Premios Flamenco En La Piel del Salón Internacional de la Moda Flamenca (SIMOF) 2018[4].
