Castilla y León (Reino Unido: /kæˈstiːl … leɪˈɒn/, US: /-ˈoʊn/; español: Castilla y León [kasˈtiʎa i leˈon] (escuchar); leonés: Castiella y Llión [kasˈtjeʎa i ʎiˈoŋ]; gallego: Castela e León [kasˈtɛlɐ ɪ leˈoŋ]) es una comunidad autónoma del noroeste de España.
Fue creada en 1983. Formada por las provincias de Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Valladolid y Zamora, es la mayor comunidad autónoma de España en cuanto a superficie, con 94.222 km2. Sin embargo, está poco poblada, con una densidad de población inferior a 30/km2.
Castilla y León es una región sin salida al mar, que limita con Portugal y con las comunidades autónomas españolas de Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, País Vasco, La Rioja, Aragón, Castilla-La Mancha, la Comunidad de Madrid y Extremadura. Comprende principalmente la mitad norte de la Meseta Interior, está rodeada de barreras montañosas (los Picos de Europa al norte, el Sistema Central al sur y el Sistema Ibérico al este) y está drenada por el río Duero, que fluye al oeste hacia el Océano Atlántico.
