Recorded in high definition with cinematic optics, “Pablo Escobar. El Patrón del mal” is the most ambitious production ever produced in Colombia. Based on a complete journalistic document and the testimonies of people who in some way had to do with this evil genius, this series portrays the life of the drug lord Pablo Escobar.
This production brings us closer to the narco’s life from his origins as the son of a teacher in a town near Medellín, through his beginnings as a criminal who stole tombstones and engaged in smuggling and finally, finding in drug trafficking the path to become one of the richest and most feared men in the world.
Much has been said about Escobar, about what he did, but so far we had not seen how he did it: his first shipment, the intimacy of his criminal life, his relationship with his partners, with his mother and the arrogance of his personality. He circumvented borders, invented routes, exported tons of coca to the United States and Europe, and for that he formed the Medellin Cartel. He was so powerful that he even proposed to pay the country’s foreign debt.
